Kuala Lumpur Malaysia History

It is a relatively young and modern city of the skyscrapers, parks and historical places, which was found in 1857, as a small mining town, whose inhabitants were engaged in the development of tin mines, and it was located near the rivers Klang and Gombak. In 1896, the city was chosen as the administrative center of the Federation of Malay States. The British government proposed to establish the Malayan Union with Kuala Lumpur as an administrative center. The project was met with negative reaction of the local residents.

As the result of the rejection of Malayan Union in March 1946, was established the first political organization the United Malays National Organization (UMNO). In 1948, the Malayan Union was substituted for Federation of Malaya. And in 1957, the modern capital of Malaysia has become the principal city of the independent Federation of Malaya, there was adopted the basic law of the country - the Constitution.
